Hello! I'm Frank Swoboda and it is my privilege to teach at English High School, the oldest public high school in the United States. I am a proud product of public schools myself, from kindergarten through graduate school (UMass Boston/Boston Teacher Residency), and I strongly believe that a high-quality public education is a right for all individuals and the most important foundation for the strength of our society and our democracy.
I have been at EHS since 2012 and currently teach US History 1 (African-American Studies and Foundations of Democracy) as well as Global Issues (Global Sustainability and Global Rights & Justice). Please feel free to get in touch with me at any time using the contact information on this page.
In addition to teaching, I have enjoyed working with EHS students to travel internationally over April Break through our Sapere Aude ("Dare to Know") program. Students have researched, planned, fundraised for, and enjoyed trips to the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, and Vatican City. Who knows where we'll go next?
