Mission Statement
The mission of The English High School is to challenge each student academically while fostering an enduring commitment to honor, achievement and service to humanity.
Vision Statement
We believe that all students can achieve at high academic levels, act with sensitivity to all people, and participate in society as responsible and productive citizens. The English High School prepares all students:
- to succeed at a four year college, whether they choose college or some other postsecondary option
- to understand the importance of race, class and culture in our society and work for social justice
- to be contributing members of our diverse society and global economy
- to understand the array of life options college makes available to them
The English High School staff members respect and have great expectations of all students and one another. Staff members care deeply about their discipline(s) and craft, strive for excellence, and collaborate on the ongoing development of a professional learning community. The English High School staff is devoted to meeting these standards of excellence.
All staff, students, parents, and other members of The English High School community work together in a manner characterized by respect, honesty, high expectations and critical friendship. The members of our community work fervently to create an environment that reflects these characteristics.
